Provided that ·
(b) Officers who work on a system of regular shifts provided
that the number of hours worked in one week does not
excoed 48 hours or the appropriate minimum for any week
in which public holiday occurs.
officers who are required by the nature of their duties
to work regular shifts 7 days a week without any day off
may be granted an overtime allowance for hours worked on
Sundays or public holidays, even though they may not have
completed 48 hours in any one weck.
(c) Officers Tho are compensated by corresponding time off for
working in cxcess of 40 hours or the appropriate minimum
in any one week.
The hourly rate of overtime allowance is 1/100th part of on officer's
monthly basic salary, subject to a maximum hourly rate of $6.00.
Fractions
of an hour may be aggregated over the normal week but no overtime allowance is
payable in respect of fractions under the half hour and the full hourly rate
shall be payable for fractions over the half hour.

No adjustment of overtime allowance will be made in respect of any
overtime worked during 1947.

It should be noted that staff who qualify for overtime allowance under
the new regulations but who are at present excluded by virtue of receiving Chinese New Year bonus are no longer procluded from being paid overtime
allowance.
9. Secretariat Administrative Circular No. 2 of 9th January, 1948, is
cancelled.
